Personal protection - minimum
The biodiesel process involves poisonous, corrosive, flammable chemicals.
WEAR CHEMICAL SAFETY MASK and CHEMICAL RESISTANT GLOVES whenever you work with Methoxide, NaOH, KOH, Methanol, H2SO4, HCL. Do not breathe methanol fumes. Wear a dust-filter mask when working with KOH flake.
Do not make biodiesel in a residential building - use a securely lockable well ventilated out-house, equipped with running water, appropriate fire extinguishers, and appropriate safety notices on all hazardous chemicals.

::: Face Masks: Protect your eyes and face from caustic or acid burns
::: Chemical Resistant Gloves:
::: Dust mask: Protect your lungs from caustic dust
::: Cat Litter: Soak up oil spills BEFORE you slip on them.
One thing you can guarantee about making biodiesel - you WILL spill oil! You can reduce the mess and risk of slipping if you flatten some old, thick-walled corrugated carboard boxes, and lay them on the ground in your work area. Use cat litter / kitty litter to soak up spills.
